Skiathos Cat Welfare Association

Sadly, SCWA is not a 'sanctuary' or 'shelter'. Skiathos has hundreds of stray cats which could not possibly be placed in one area. The charity helps by stablilizing the Skiathos cat population through its 'catch, neuter & release' programme and assist with off-site urgent medical attention for which the vet costs are paid. This charity considers neutering as a priority in order to control the population of cats and kittens.

When the tourist season is over and the cats & kittens are left without a regular supply of food, SCWA puts in place winter feeding stations along the island where volunteers feed up to 300 cats. Locals and ex-pats also help feed strays through the winter, but unfortunately it still leaves many strays to starve to death Donations are always gratefully received We are proud to say that no representative of our charity receives any remuneration whatsoever for their work. Everyone works as a volunteer and our overheads are kept to a minimum. This ensures that all donations are used for the purpose for which they are intended, to benefit the animals.
Your support makes a "BIG" difference to a small charity
