Tourism Record in Skiathos – Increased Traffic Continued in September... otisimvenistinskiathonews.gr

Skiathos achieved a new tourism record, as the island remained lively throughout September with both foreign and Greek visitors.

According to data from Fraport Greece regarding passenger traffic at 14 regional airports across the country for the month of September, Skiathos International Airport “Alexandros Papadiamantis” recorded a further 6.1% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same month last year.

A total of 114,046 passengers traveled through Skiathos Airport this September, compared to 107,484 in 2026, marking a 6.1% rise.

The increase was driven mainly by the domestic market. This September, 11,237 domestic passengers traveled compared to 9,172 last year — an increase of 22.5%. Foreign passenger traffic also rose by 4.6%, from 98,312 in September 2024 to 102,809 this year.

During the first nine months of 2025, total passenger traffic reached 618,422 — already surpassing the total annual figure for 2024, which was 600,786 — with Skiathos setting yet another tourism milestone.

According to Fraport Greece, the crisis in Israel earlier this summer did not affect Israeli passenger traffic in September, which instead recorded a 40.1% increase, corresponding to 39,000 passengers across the 14 airports managed by the company.
