Opening on Saturday, October 18

The Cultural, Educational and Fishing Association of Marathos “Nereides” presents the Photography Exhibition titled “Water World.”
The exhibition will take place on Saturday, October 18, in the courtyard of the Spiritual Center of the Church of Marathos, with the official opening scheduled for 6 p.m.

With artistic vision and a deep sense of sensitivity, the exhibition showcases digital photographs by amateur photographers from Magnesia — both established and emerging — exploring themes that reflect the waters of the Pagasitic Gulf, humanity’s relationship with the sea, and the natural beauty of the aquatic world.

A special highlight of the exhibition is the work of Vasileia Parissi from Skiathos, whose photographs capture with distinctive aesthetics the magic and serenity of the seascape, conveying to the viewer the profound connection between human beings and nature.

In addition, the exhibition will feature a tribute to the photographic work of Theodoros Perrakis, a long-time resident of Marathos, through a retrospective presentation of his underwater photography — honoring the late doctor and photographer.

The Association warmly thanks the Region of Thessaly for covering the costs of digitizing the photographic material, printing posters, and producing the exhibition’s printed catalogs, which will be distributed free of charge to visitors.
